Mr. King / CEO

Leadership is, understanding people and involving them to help you do a job. That takes all of the good characteristics, like integrity, dedication of purpose, selflessness, passion, knowledge, skill, implacability, as well as determination not to accept failure.

There is a relatively small segment of leaders in the nonprofit world, individuals who seem able to build relationships, trust, and rapport with almost anyone, and then are able to broker the relationships and make connections between people, creating partnerships and alliances, and motivating forward momentum to ‘get things done.’

Mr. King is one of those people, and ‘getting things done’ and driving results-through collaboration, partnerships and relationships-as a Executive Director in the nonprofit industry, is what he is all about. With an enthusiastic and genuinely caring attitude about people and their problems, Mr. King radiates a sincere passion for delivering value and services to his clients.

While attending Sacramento City College with an eye to work in the Social Service field, Mr. King was approached to work at one of the local nonprofit agencies located in south Sacramento California. He has not looked back since; in this capacity as a case manager Mr. King saw his true calling in life, he knew he wanted to work toward helping others in the community and be a leader in this position.

In 1998 Mr. King founded The Gardens, Family Care Community Center Inc, a nonprofit entity with a focus on HIV/AIDS, gangs and gang violence. Mr. King saw the mission of “The Gardens” as two fold” To promote healthy lives through education, prevention, intervention, compassion and understanding: To address the social ills of the community with a diverse outlook, leaving no-one behind.

Mr. King founded the very first and only HIV/AIDS testing site with a focus on the African American community in Sacramento, “The Gardens” is the only program in the area that has a documented track record, evidenced based approach, and provides specific services and outreach to the high-risk targeted youth population.

His works, the health & wellness, jobs, diseases, unemployment, the plight of homelessness, affordable housing,  the suffering of our “Veterans” all these are the concerns of Mr. King for those within our community, that keeps Mr. King going daily to try and find solutions to these problems, concerns and issues that is plaguing our community on a daily basis.

When The Power Of Love Becomes More Important Than The Love Of Power, We Will Have Peace!
